Non Format Journal

I intended to produce a journal with the work Non Format, a company that designs everything from fashion to music.

My inspiration for this piece came from a Magnetic Man poster. I took the layout of the design into account and tried to keep a black and white theme, to truly capture the Magnetic Man feel.I also used the text to show the steps I took in the design to create the final image.

Manchester Guide

My latest project is to create a guide for Manchester in the style of Non Format.
In these pieces I paid specific attention to the fonts by using a different range from
Non Format  I wanted to achieve a comparison to my designer with a range of different
fonts and flat colours.

*The Chap Cover

This design was influenced by The Chap album cover as I tried to break up the famous Cathedral in Manchester to give the effect my designer gave to the font in his work.I used this picture from a selection that I took in Manchester to achieve the look I wanted.

Manchester Music Festival Project

The brief for this project was to design a poster for a chosen music festival. I decided to keep the designs minimal as I wanted a clean and effective look.

*Different Poster Designs

For this design I got my idea from an Owl City poster as I used the shape of the 2 owls to make the outline for my design. I then added the decks and went with the black & white theme to give a simple but significant effect.I was quite pleased with how this design turned out as it is simple, but striking.

Fine Art

*Painting from Paul Wright

*Painting from Jenny Saville

*Using Artists techniques

For my art I intended to create painting in the style of Jenny Saville, Paul Wright, Kent Williams etc. I looked at the way they painted as they used thick brush strokes and used colours that wouldn't normally be seen in the skin. I liked how the artists used flicks of random colour to create realism in the faces.
